These are just the very compressed raw frames of Arcturus in focus, imaged with and without the active ventilation switched on.
The sampling is Rayleigh critical – 0.165 seconds of arc per pixel.

Please note the flare like caustics without the active ventilation. There is also a slight horizontal elongation of the star. The overall star size is increased by appr. 20 percent.
